Why do you need an air purifier?
Keeping our environment free of toxic particles is essential to us and our health. Air purifiers have a proven history of eliminating toxins and neutralizing the air inside your home. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, people are quickly turning to purifiers to protect from the latest virus, and as a result, the air quality industry is exponentially growing faster than ever.
With questions on the rise, such as “can air purifiers remove viruses?” we take a closer look to find out just how air purifiers can reduce your risk of getting in touch with airborne particles, and if air purifier can really keep you safe.
How does an air purifier work?
It’s commonly understood that an air purifier neutralizes the air in your home by removing harmful particles that can cause asthmatic symptoms and the spread of germs. Air purifiers, such as the EnviroKlenz UV Air System, offer a plethora of features that clean the air in your home. There are three major components to this air purifier, including an air cartridge, HEPA filter, and UV lights, each of which have their own responsibility in thoroughly removing harmful particles.
EnviroKlenz Air Cartridge
This is the part of the air purifier that’s responsible for removing VOC’s and noxious or chemical odors by taking it through an “adsorptive neutralization” process. The cartridge contains a patented earth mineral technology that captures and neutralizes odors and VOCs from the air without releasing anything back into the environment.
HEPA Filter
Ultra-fine, fiber medium captures microscopic particles to remove at least 99.97% (9,997 out of 10,000) of particles 0.3-microns in diameter from the air passing through the filter.
UV-C Lights
Once the particles are collected and ran through a filter, the UV lights are constantly shining onto the collection side of the HEPA filter to effectively deactivate any organism left behind.
What does an air purifier do?
If you’re questioning what’s the best air purifier for your home, the answer ultimately depends on what you want out of the new air purifier. Some air purifiers are built with filters that are responsible for trapping particles as the air runs through them, while others neutralize particles before filtering them. Here are the main reasons why you might need an air purifier:
Smoke: Air purifiers can filter smoke caused by tobacco, house fires, and landscape fires.
VOCs: Household cleaners, outdoor pollution, scented candles, and paint are some of the most common sources of VOCs. When these toxins live in your home, they can cause detrimental health issues.
Mold: Our homes aren’t 100% mold-free, however, large amounts of mold can be harmful to your health. It is important to look for mold signs, especially in your basement if you have one.
Dust & Pet Dander: Common allergens are dust, pet dander, or pollen and can cause an increased risk of asthmatic attacks and immune responses.
Odors: Harmful or chemical odors are also one of the most common causes of getting an air purifier. The EnviroKlenz technology captures and neutralizes odors without releasing anything back into the environment.
Pathogens: We all know the air is loaded with pathogens, including viruses, bacteria, fungus, and bacteria. Diseases that are transmitted via airborne particles can be especially infectious, so it is important to mitigate these droplets as much as possible.
Before you buy an air purifier…
The study reveals that the unit was effective at reducing all four pathogens in the air after operating for two hours. Once these pathogens were collected and studied, it was found that the reduction rates for Phi-X174 (a virus one-quarter of the Sars-CoV-2) virus were at 99%, the reduction for E. coli was 98%, mold had a reduced rate of 99%, and fungus also had a 99% reduction rate.
When particles are captured by the EnviroKlenz Air System’s HEPA filter, they are then treated by UV lights at a wavelength of 254nm, which is outside of the ozone production range. These lights destroy the particles reducing any risk of them returning into your air!
